Oregon and Corvallis
The main campus of Oregon State University is located in Corvallis, Oregon, a vibrant college town nestled in the beautiful Willamette Valley. With the scenic Oregon Coast to the west and the stunning Cascade Mountain Range to the east, you can mountain bike or ski one day and walk along the beach the next. Corvallis is widely recognized as a safe, smart, green community and a wonderful place to live. |
Like the outdoors? The OSU Research Forests feature hiking and biking trails and are only a few miles outside of town.
|
Portland is just an hour and a half drive north. Enjoy the unique city, culture, and entertainment the Rose City has to offer.
Head east over the Cascade mountain range to enjoy incredible hiking, fantastic skiing, and warm sunshine all year. Be sure to visit our campus in Bend (OSU-Cascades).
Drive west 45 minutes and enjoy the world famous coastline. Surfing, whale watching, or just walk on the beach; you won't leave disappointed! |
Join the communityOregon State is proud to be the home of seven Cultural Resource Centers, including the Asian & Pacific Cultural Center, the Lonnie B. Harris Black Cultural Center, the Centro Cultural César Chávez, the Ettihad Cultural Center, the Native American Longhouse Eena Haws, the Pride Center, and the Women's Center. Open to all students, the cultural centers provide opportunities to learn about different cultures and communities. Events and activities at the centers include national history and heritage month programs, social justice workshops, cultural holiday celebrations, cooking demonstrations, craft nights, and many other programs.
There are many graduate student clubs you can join. Clubs are a great way to meet new people inside, or outside, of your discipline. The student involvement website keeps a list of clubs. You can filter the list for "graduate students." Once you are a student, make sure to also ask around your academic unit about clubs. |
Grad student supportThe Graduate School, and the college in which you will eventually study, provide academic and professional resources to support you. The Graduate School's student success team coordinates workshops and seminars by many campus partners such as the Career Development Center and the Graduate Writing Center to make sure they are tailored specifically for graduate students. We also manage the Graduate Student Commons, a place for graduate students to study, meet, and socialize.

Finding a place to liveOne common concern when moving to a new place is housing. Oregon State has on-campus options for graduate students. Family housing is also available at OSU to married students and students with children.
Additionally, you can choose from a variety of off-campus housing options within a short walk, bike ride, or bus ride on Corvallis’ no cost public transit system. The Office of International Services website has information when looking for housing off-campus. |
