Internships that address real health challenges

Hi [First Name],

Internships are integrated into your coursework to help you gain hands-on experience and become an effective public health leader.

Tonya Johnson, our full-time internship coordinator, will help you identify a position and complete all the necessary steps.

We have existing partnerships across Oregon, the United States and globe, and if you find an internship we aren’t already partnered with, Tonya can help set it up. Common internship settings include government, hospitals and clinics, non-governmental organizations and corporations.

For example, MPH students pursuing the global health option who prefer a local internship have landed internships at Holt International and with the Behavioral Health Team at OHA. Past projects include:
  • Conduct country-level nutrition review and food cost summary reports
  • Create behavioral health focused community engagement and coalition tools

Students who prefer international internships have participated in the Botswana Global Health Internship Program, while others have completed individualized experiences such as designing and delivering a One Health educational program for children in Indonesia.

Sincerely,

College of Health Recruitment Team
