Internships are integrated into your coursework to help you gain hands-on experience and become an effective public health leader.
Tonya Johnson, our full-time internship coordinator, will help you identify a position and complete all the necessary steps.
We have existing partnerships across Oregon, the United States and globe, and if you find an internship we aren’t already partnered with, Tonya can help set it up. Common internship settings include government, hospitals and clinics, non-governmental organizations and corporations.
For example, MPH students pursuing the biostatistics option have landed internships at Samaritan Health Services and Oregon Health Authority Public Health Division. Past projects include:
Health care utilization before versus during COVID-19
Peripartum antibiotic exposure and postpartum mental health: A retrospective study
Health impacts of wildfire smoke
Adherence to anti-retroviral therapy and clinic visits among people living with HIV during COVID-19
