The MPH at Oregon State University

Dear [First Name],

You have taken an exciting first step toward your graduate degree, and we are thrilled to hear about your interest in the MPH program at Oregon State University. We offer six on-campus options, as well as an online MPH degree, which is asynchronous and a great option if you work full-time.

Key reasons to choose the Oregon State MPH:
  1. You’ll be supported by your cohort and approachable faculty. Class sizes are purposely kept small so you’ll have a personal experience. When you enter our program, you’ll be assigned a faculty advisor who is invested in your success. This setup makes it possible for you to build lifelong connections.

  2. Electives are built into the curriculum. Each MPH option has some flexibility with electives. Your faculty advisor will work with you to choose electives and encourage you to build an area of focus. Any grad-level course at Oregon State could potentially be an elective. For example, global health students have taken medical anthropology courses, health systems and policy students have taken MBA courses, and epidemiology and environmental and occupational health students have taken toxicology courses. Whatever your interests are, we’re invested in helping you get the most out of our MPH program.

  3. Through your internship and in your future career, you’ll make a real impact in the lives of others and create a healthier world. Our 200-hour internship requirement is supported by a full-time MPH internship coordinator, who will provide you with direct support throughout the entire process.

You have flexibility in choosing your internship. Some students choose to go abroad, while others stay closer to home. We have existing partnerships across Oregon, the United States and globe, and if you find an internship we aren’t already partnered with, our internship coordinator can help set it up.

  4. Affordability. Your graduate public health education is an investment in your future. We understand you must weigh the cost and benefits of your graduate education.

OSU’s MPH options are among the most reasonably priced in the Pacific Northwest.

Beginning in academic year ’23-’24, we have reduced the tuition cost by nearly $4,000 to help address affordability and reduce barriers for the future of public health.

Choosing where to pursue your advanced degree is a big decision. We’re here to support you every step of the way.

Sincerely,

College of Health Recruitment Team
