Placement in the Field Dear Trey,
Thank you for your interest in our Master of Arts in Teaching program! OSU-Cascades' nationally accredited graduate teaching program offers the opportunity for pre-service teacher candidates to gain the skills necessary to begin a successful and sustained career in education. The program gives you exceptional instruction using a cohort model, where students form strong bonds as they progress through their coursework together. Faculty include teaching practitioners and researchers. The In-Person program is the only public university offering a site-based teaching degree in Central Oregon. The online Elementary Education program allows you to complete your graduate coursework through top-ranked OSU Ecampus and your student teaching in partner school districts throughout Oregon.
The coursework for the In-person and online Ecampus Elementary Education program integrates student teaching field placements that allow teacher candidates the opportunity to practice what they learn in the university classroom under the guidance of a master teacher. Placements occur in schools within the local school districts, where OSU-Cascades' graduate teaching program is considered a partner of choice. Learn more about field placements for teacher candidates.
Central Oregon Field Placement Opportunities: We work with six school districts in Central Oregon and your placements may occur in any district. Deschutes County (Bend-La Pine, Redmond, Sisters), Crook County (Prineville, Powell Butte), and Jefferson County (Madras, Culver).
